Rosie's Cafe — Northside Drive

Northside Drive / Mercedes-Benz Stadium

  • Coffee
  • Local Favorites

A locally rooted Atlanta cafe and restaurant serving coffee, breakfast, and comfort food near Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Its Northside Drive location makes it a useful morning stop before heading into a full day at MagicCon.

Editor Tip

One of the strongest pre-convention breakfast options in the guide. The Northside Drive location currently opens at 7 AM daily, giving players time for coffee and breakfast before the convention day gets underway.

48 Northside Dr SW, Atlanta, GA 30313

Max's Coal Oven Pizzeria

Centennial Park District

  • Quick Eats

A downtown Atlanta coal-oven pizzeria serving New York-style pies, wings, salads, sandwiches, and pasta. The shareable menu makes Max's an easy choice when a group of players wants a straightforward meal between convention activities.

Editor Tip

A good lunch or dinner choice for a small MagicCon group. Seating is first-come, first-served, and current normal hours are 11 AM–9 PM daily, so this is not intended as a late-night option.

300 Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30313

Waffle House

Downtown

  • Quick Eats
  • Late Night

World (in)famous Atlanta chain that provides diner comfort food, served around the clock. This downtown Waffle House is a convenient option for an early breakfast before MagicCon, a quick meal between activities, or late-night food after other nearby kitchens have closed.

Editor Tip

Open 24 hours, which makes this one of the most useful food options in the guide for players keeping convention hours. Expect a line out the door during busy periods.

135 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30303

TydeTate Kitchen — South Downtown

South Downtown / Hotel Row

  • Quick Eats
  • Local Favorites

A family-owned fast-casual Thai restaurant serving home-style comfort food in South Downtown. It's a strong change of pace for MagicCon attendees who want noodles, curries, and Thai flavors instead of another round of pizza, burgers, or convention food.

Editor Tip

Best suited to lunch or an early dinner, especially for solo players and smaller groups. The South Downtown location currently serves from 11 AM–9 PM daily.

229 Mitchell St SW, Atlanta, GA 30303

Twin Smokers BBQ

Centennial Park District

  • Quick Eats
  • Local Favorites

A downtown barbecue stop built around regionally inspired smoked meats, including brisket, ribs, pulled pork, turkey, and smoked wings. It's a good option when a MagicCon group wants a distinctly Southern meal without making a major trip away from the convention district.

Editor Tip

Go earlier if barbecue is high on your list. Twin Smokers warns that popular items can sell out. Current normal hours are 11 AM–8 PM Monday through Saturday and 11 AM–6 PM Sunday.

300 Marietta St NW, Suite 104, Atlanta, GA 30313

Spiller Park Coffee — South Downtown

South Downtown / Hotel Row

  • Coffee

An Atlanta specialty coffee shop on historic Hotel Row serving coffee and cafe food from a restored South Downtown storefront. It's a worthwhile morning stop for visitors who want a local coffee shop rather than relying entirely on hotel or convention-center coffee.

Editor Tip

The South Downtown location currently opens at 7:30 AM and closes at 3 PM daily, making it a practical morning coffee stop before MagicCon.

233 Mitchell Street SW, Suite 235, Atlanta, GA 30303

Paschal's

Castleberry Hill

  • Local Favorites

An Atlanta institution for Southern and soul food with roots dating to 1947. Paschal's became an important gathering place during the civil rights movement and remains one of the most historically significant restaurant stops near the convention district.

Editor Tip

Choose Paschal's when you want a real Atlanta meal rather than the fastest possible convention break. Fried chicken is the signature, and this is better suited to a relaxed lunch or dinner than a quick grab-and-go stop.

180 Northside Drive SW, Atlanta, GA 30313

No Más! Cantina

Castleberry Hill

  • Local Favorites

A large Castleberry Hill Mexican restaurant and gathering space combining classic dishes, house specialties, a covered patio, and an elaborate artisan-designed interior. Its location south of Mercedes-Benz Stadium makes it a useful option for groups who want to leave the immediate convention-center zone without going far.

Editor Tip

A strong group-dinner choice. The Cantina currently operates from 8 AM to 10 PM daily, but reservations are worth considering on a major convention weekend.

180 Walker St SW, Atlanta, GA 30313

Park Bar

Centennial Park District

  • Quick Eats
  • Late Night

A casual downtown pub near Centennial Olympic Park serving burgers, sandwiches, bourbon, and craft beer. Its combination of food, central location, and later hours makes it especially useful after the MagicCon show floor has closed.

Editor Tip

One of the easiest after-convention gathering spots in the guide. Current normal hours run until midnight daily, making it a better evening option than many downtown restaurants.

150 Walton St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303

Wild Leap Atlanta

South Downtown / Mercedes-Benz Stadium

  • Late Night
  • Local Favorites

A large multi-level downtown taproom serving food alongside Wild Leap's beer, cocktails, and other drinks. The space is close to Mercedes-Benz Stadium and works well for groups looking for a casual place to decompress after a long day of Magic.

Editor Tip

A good Friday or Saturday night option for a group. Current hours run until midnight on Friday and Saturday. It is also within walking distance of Garnett MARTA station.

125 Ted Turner Drive SW, Atlanta, GA 30313

Capolinea

GWCC / Mercedes-Benz Stadium

  • Closest to Venue

An upscale Italian restaurant inside the Signia by Hilton next to the Georgia World Congress Center and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Capolinea specializes in handmade pastas, Neapolitan-style pizzas, steaks, seasonal dishes, and an elaborate martini service, with large windows and views overlooking the stadium and Downtown Atlanta.

Editor Tip

Capolinea is on the fourth floor of the Signia by Hilton, directly beside the convention complex. Reserve ahead for Friday or Saturday night—major event weekends can get busy. Note that regular hours are Tuesday–Saturday, 5–10 p.m., so it is normally closed Sunday.

159 Northside Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30313

Der Biergarten

Downtown / Centennial Park

  • Group Friendly
  • Local Favorites

A lively German beer hall and restaurant near the convention district serving bratwurst, schnitzel, giant pretzels, potato pancakes, German beer, and other hearty classics. The indoor bierhall and elevated outdoor patio make it especially well suited for groups looking for dinner and drinks after a day at MagicCon.

Editor Tip

One of the better group hangout options near MagicCon. It’s close enough to the convention center for an easy post-event meal, and the communal beer-hall atmosphere works well for a group of players who want to keep hanging out. Regular weekend hours are Friday 4–9 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday noon–9 p.m., so it’s better for dinner than truly late-night food.
